As per the current scenario in the Indian telecom industry, the hopes of finding an affordable and a value-for-money internet plan are very bleak. Almost all telecom operators have now hiked their 2G as well as 3G internet plans significantly. A majority of data plans are tailor-made for heavy data users but there are very few internet packs for those who consume very less data.
Luckily, Tata DOCOMO has launched new long validity offering less 2G data in its Mumbai circle.
It has launched two 2G data plans in Mumbai having 28 days validity costing just Rs. 33 and Rs. 66.
The Rs. 33 pack offers 150 MB 2G data valid for 28 days while Rs. 66 plan offers 300 MB 2G data valid for 28 days. Overage data will be charged at 10p/10 KB.
These packs will be very useful to those who want internet connectivity throughout the month but don’t consume much data. The plans are especially suited for those who want internet pack on their phones only for checking their emails, and chatting on IMs. If you subscribe to 300 MB plan, then you can do some browsing also without attracting heavy bills but I’d advise that you browse only when required. Don’t use it for casual browsing for killing time.
Talking about plan changes, Docomo has revised its 3G smart life plan in Maharashtra circle. The Rs. 299 plan now comes with Rs. 175 talktime along with 1 GB 3G data valid for 28 days (it was Rs. 200 talktime and 1 GB 3G data for 28 days previously). On the other hand, Rs. 253 plan which earlier offered Rs. 110 talktime along with 1GB 3G data now offers only Rs. 100 talktime along with 1 GB 3G data valid for 28 days only.
It is worth noting that this is not significant hike in tarrif plan by Domoco when all leading telecom operators are hiking their 3G data plans significantly.
