Jio may still not have launched its 4G services in world’s largest democracy but its future looks bright. According to a report by CLSA, a brokerage firm, Reliance Jio will achieve an ARPU of Rs. 250.
This would be 30% higher than the ARPU of Bharti Airtel but it is still 25% less than the estimated 3G ARPU.
It is worth noting that Reliance Jio had recently boasted of gaining 7 lakh subscribers well before its commercial launch. The company also mentioned that the average data consumed per subscriber per month was close to 18.6 GB which is way more than the average data consumed by the subscribers by the incumbent telecom operators.
IDFC Securities has also mentioned that Jio will gain a market share of 10-12% over the next 3 to 4 years while having a user-base of 100-120 million.
Jio’s Cell Sites & Network Capacity
Jio will launch its 4G network via 90,000 cell sites across the country having a cumulative capacity of 608 PB. As of now, the company disclosed that it generated a total of 13 PB for its 7 lakh users translating to an average 18.57 GB per user.
Upon the successful launch the company would increase the number of cell sites to 1,25,000 transmitting Reliance Jio’s 4G network on 850/1800/2300 MHz spectrum having a capacity of generating 844 PB of data.
The company expect to have 180-280M subscribers after 3 years of its commercial launch which is expected to be in September 2016.
It is worth noting that Jio had recently launched its website Jio.com so that those you want to try its 4G services can do so without any referral from any of its employees. All they need to do is register on the website.
Those who buy Jio’s LYF phones now would be getting unlimited 4G internet access for 3 months along with 4500 of voice calls.
All we are waiting for is the commercial launch of Jio 4G network so we can try it ourselves and share our experience with you.
