Phased Rollout of Platinum 3G Across Various Cities In Punjab

Airtel has announced that it will start rolling out its Platinum 3G services across various cities in Punjab starting this month. The first few cities to get Airtel Platinum 3G will be Mohali, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Zirakpur, Kharar, Moga, Ludhiana, Patiala, Amritsar, Bhatinda, Jalandhar, Phagwara, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, and Dera Bassi with the notable exception of Firozpur.

Through Platinum 3G on 900 MHz band, Airtel would be able to provide world-class mobile experience to its subscribers with enhanced indoors connectivity, better voice quality, and faster data speeds.

Airtel also claims that the Platinum 3G would extend battery life on customer’s smartphones through its optimized backend engagement between the network and the mobile devices.

Airtel plans to roll out Platinum 3G across all major towns and cities in Punjab for complementing its existing 2G and 4G network. Airtel currently offers high-speed 4G services across 50 towns in Punjab over 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz bands.

“At Airtel, it is our endeavour to consistently innovate and offer a seamless network experience to our customers. The launch of Airtel Platinum 3G is an integral part of this commitment and will considerably improve the voice and data experience of our customers,” said Manu Sood, Hub CEO- Upper North at Bharti Airtel on the launch of Platinum 3G services.

The company plans to improve its network via its Rs. 60,000 crores Project Leap.

“We recently launched “Project Leap”, a national network transformation drive and look forward to augmenting our data presence to more regions and deliver a compelling network experience for our customers now and in the years to come,” Sood added.

Platinum 3G Now Available In Hyderabad

Bharti Airtel has also launched its Platinum 3G in Hyderabad on 900 MHz and 2100 MHz bands.

“As a leader in the telecommunication space, it is our endeavor to consistently innovate and make investments that help us move closer to our vision of delivering a seamless network experience to our customers. The launch of Platinum 3G is an integral part of this commitment and will deliver enhanced voice as well as data connectivity for customers on 3G as we continue to roll out 4G services in the state,” said Venkatesh Vijayraghavan, CEO, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Airtel.

The most interesting thing about Platinum 3G besides better indoors coverage and faster data speeds is the fact that the customers have to neither specially subscribe to Platinum 3G nor pay more for the improved 3G network. All you need is a device supporting these bands and you’re good to go.
