India’s second largest telecom operator- Vodafone has recently launched a 3G Wi-Fi HotSpot dongle in an effort to boost up its revenue from high-speed data services.
This Wi-Fi device R206Z costs Rs. 2399 and will be available in the 4 metro cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. It will also be made available across other circles throught out the nation in a phased manner. It does what it says. It basically creates a Wi-Fi hotspot using a Vodafone 3G enabled SIM, and let’s a maximum of 10 users connect to the hotspot for high speed internet access.
This Wi-Fi Hotspot also comes with an in-built battery of 1500 mAh providing up to 3.75 hours of backup for Wi-Fi Hotspot when fully charged. Vodafone has not announced any special data plans for users of this Wi-Fi dongle so, we guess that you’ve to do away with the current 3G data plans.
