Vodafone, the #2 telecom operator in India is trying hard to catch up with India’s top telecom operator – Bharti Airtel. In an effort to minimize the lead Airtel has over it, Vodafone has launched a new contest – Vodafone Campus Selfies aimed at the college students.

Vodafone campus selfies contest

The contest name says it all, but here is what you have to do for winning the contest:

Take a group or a personal selfie and upload it on the Campus Selfie App on Vodafone’s Facebook page. The entry receiving the maximum number of likes during the stipulated time period i.e. till the content runs, will win.

The lucky winner will get the chance to be the face of a mega outdoor campaign run by Vodafone in Goa and Maharashtra.

The contest went live yesterday and will run till the last week of October. A ‘Vodafone Campus Selfies Activation Team’ has already started a tour of visiting 65 colleges across Maharashtra and Goa. This team will not only create awareness about the campaign but will also create experience zones in colleges for capturing the perfect selfies.

The contest would be open to students of selected 65 colleges in 10 cities of Pune, Aurangabad, Solapur, Nashik, Kolhapur, Goa, Nanded, Amravati, Nagpur and Vasai.

Speaking about this unique contest Vodafone Business Head of Maharashtra and Goa, Ishmeet Singh said, “With increasing data penetration and rise of smartphones, the selfies have become an instant hit within the student community. Vodafone Campus Selfies is aimed to engage with this community by creating an environment of fun and excitement, while educating them on how to use the social media platforms responsibly.”

So, the Vodafone Campus Selfies Activation Team will also teach the students about the dos and dont’s of social media while becoming responsible users of various social networks. That is a nice gesture of social responsibility Vodafone, but the students already know how to be safe, private and secure on the internet.

Just head on to Vodafone India’s Facebook page and ask if your college is eligible for the contest. You know how to get hundreds of likes on Facebook. Just Google it! Good Luck!!
