Jio Summer Surprise Offer came as a surprisingly good news for the Jio subscribers who wished to continue with Jio and enjoy the benefits at a dirt cheap price. But many of them won’t be able to enjoy them now. Reliance Jio has now withdrawn the ‘Jio Summer Surprise Offer’ as per TRAI’s request.
As per the earlier announcement, all Jio users could roll into Jio Prime membership before 15th April 2017 and had the option to avail the extra data benefits under the Jio Summer Surprise Offer, but things have changed now with this announcement from Jio.
What Can You Do Now?
Jio has accepted to withdraw this promotional offer and will do so over the next few days.
If you want to enjoy the benefits of the Jio Summer Surprise Offer then you need to recharge your Jio number with any Prime plan costing Rs. 303 and above at the earliest. All those who enroll for the Jio Summer Surprise will be eligible for these benefits as long as they recharge it before the company withdraws these offers.
“As per TRAI’s advice, Jio will be withdrawing the 3 months complimentary benefits of Jio Summer Surprise as soon as operationally feasible, over the next few days. In case you have recharged with 303 and 99 offer prior to discontinuation, you will remain eligible for the offer,” said Jio.
Why Has Jio Decided To Withdraw The Summer Surprise Offer?
Reliance Jio has quietly agreed to TRAI’s request without any resistance. The company has shared the same via its Twitter handle:

We suspect that TRAI might have advised Jio to withdraw its offer owing to the losses that Jio’s promotional plans have caused to the Indian telecom industry as a whole. It has also resulted into lesser licence fee collections for the government.
We recommend that you recharge your Jio number right now with any plan costing Rs. 303 and above for availing the benefits under ‘Jio Summer Surprise Offer’, valid only for Jio Prime members.
