Idea Money is an e-wallet service launched by Idea Cellular to compete with the likes of similar services offered by Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance, and Tata Teleservices.
Idea Money will allow the users to do prepaid mobile and DTH recharges, postpaid bill payments, money transfers, utility bill payments, and much more.
Idea Money was launched in Mumbai in July and will be made available across other circles as well in a phased manner. However, there is no official word on the timeline for its pan-India availability.
Note that Idea is the 5th telecom operator in India to launch such a mobile banking service after Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance and Tata. It is operated by Idea Mobile Commerce Services Limited (IMCSL) after getting a licence for running such a service from RBI back in Dec 2013.
