Just like Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular has also allowed 3G data users to access its high-speed 4G network to experience the latest in the telecom world.

Along with various promotional packs it has also launched an affordable short-validity data pack in Kerala. Costing Rs. 97 for 1 GB 3G or 4G data, this new pack would be valid for 2 days.

Still Not The Cheapest Data Pack!

This short-validity 4G internet pack is Idea’s answer to BSNL’s Rs. 68 internet pack offering 1 GB 3G data valid for 3 days.

However, with this pack Idea Cellular becomes the first telecom operator in the country to offer 1 GB 4G data @ Rs. 97 i.e. the cheapest 1 GB 4G data pack.

Idea Offering 100% Extra Data On Various Plans

Idea is also offering 2x data on all its 4G data plans in the circle of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu & Chennai, and Karnataka.

Its 1 GB 4G data pack costs somewhat close to Rs. 250 in all its 4G enabled circles. All these 1 GB packs come with an additional 100% data. That is these packs offer 2 GB 4G @ Rs. 250 approx.

It also offers 4 GB 4G data pack in the circle of Andhra Pradesh for Rs. 749. And when accounted for the additional 100% data, the overall price/GB comes down to just Rs. 93.6.

Idea Cellular is equipping its next-gen network with ‘Fast Return’ technology. When implemented this technology would enable seamless toggling between 2G, 3G, and 4G networks translating to better voice and data quality when travelling across different parts of the city.

Idea is also planning to enable VoLTE (Voice over LTE) on its 4G network, but that will happen in near future as the company thinks that many of its subscribers just have 4G enabled phones and not VoLTE phones.

Please note that Idea’s 4G network is launched on the popular 1800 MHz band. So, if you have a phone supporting this band, then you can try Idea’s 4G services and experience the difference.
