Uninor has gained 3 lakh subscribers in July which is a very good news for Telenor as it will soon acquire Uninor. Uninor’s subscriber base now stands at 1.26 crore.

Bharti Airtel‘s user base stood at 9.67 crore users at the end of the month after the addition of 90,000 subscribers. Idea cellular gained 20,000 news consumers and its subscriber base stood at 7.68 crore. Aircel also added 2.5 lakh users to take to user base to 2.62 crore at the end of the month.

On the other hand, Vodafone has lost 2.9 lakh subscribers taking it total rural user base down to 9.06 crore at the end of July.

This report indicates that Vodafone and Idea Cellular have more share of rural and urban subscribers combined. Whereas, Airtel, Aircel, and Uninor have more share of urban users.

The main reason behind such a growth is due to ever decreasing rates of mobile phones and the introduction of affordable tariff plans.
