The news about BSNL’s merger with MTNL are rife these days on telecom news websites and thus just when we thought that BSNL is not eagerly promoting its services, we were surprised by its tie-up with Micromax.

As a part of this, BSNL will offer 2GB 3G data/quarter for one year to anyone who buys Micromax smartphones having model number as: X070, X088, P410i, MMX377G, A37 and A37B.

BSNL is also offering attractive benefits with Micromax branded feature phones, tablets, and dongles.

Explaining their partnership with BSNL, Vineet Taneja, CEO of Micromax said, “At Micromax, it has been our constant endeavor to understand the Indian consumers and come up with products and services which act as a solution for their needs. We are delighted to partner with BSNL, as this collaboration will be an excellent unification of BSNL’s offerings and Micromax’s design capability thus enabling millions of Indian consumers to enjoy seamless connectivity through data usage, affordable call rates and other VAS services.”

A.N. Rai, CMD at BSNL said that this partnership with Micromax will create immense opportunities for their customers by offering high-speed 3G data for free. He also mentioned that BSNL 3G is available in 2,300 cities across the country and also provides free data roaming facility.
The details of the offer are as under:
Micromax Device Awesome Benefits
Smartphones 2 GB/quarter for 1 year
Feature Phones Free 500 on-net mins for 1 year
Tablet and Datacard Freebie activation- Customers will get plan voucher of Rs. 153.

Tie-ups like this are beneficial to both parties and who wouldn’t want to buy his smartphone with free 3G data? Micromax recently launched its first Android One phone bundled with free Airtel data for app and software updates. With offers like this on Micromax gadgets, it is surely going to give the international manufacturers like Samsung, a hard time selling their phones. And like always, we as consumers will be more than happy when the prices of the latest hardware go down with fierce competition.
