Right after Airtel announced the launch of next-generation 4G LTE services in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, Aircel has announced its plan to become one of the dominant mobile data provider in the country by launching 13000 2G, 3G, and 4G mobile sites across the country by the end of 2015.
Aircel plans to add so many additional mobile data sites in the country to work on its plan of improving customer experience by providing faster internet access along with uninterrupted cellular services.
“In line with our commitment to offer seamless, uninterrupted and differentiated services to our customers, Aircel regularly undertakes drive tests, installation of in-building solutions and upgrades network software to implement new features to ensure higher customer satisfaction on the Aircel network,” announced Sameer Dave, CTO at Aircel.
Aircel also revealed the detailed technology-wise breakup of these cell sites. Out of the total of 13000 mobile sites, the company will roll out 5300 2G sites, and the rest (7700) of the sites would be a mix of 3G and 4G cell sites.
Aircel wishes to improves its already existing network coverage in Delhi, Bihar, and Rajasthan so it’ll be launching new 2G sites there. 3G sites will be rolled out in the circles of Chennai and the rest of Tamil Nadu, Kolkata and the rest of West Bengal, and Odisha.
Aircel’s Progress Uptil Now
Aircel has already launched 7400 sites this year, resulting in the addition of about 2.2M voice hours/day and an additional data capacity of 200TB/day.
Airtel Launches 4G In Itanagar
Airtel has recently launched its high-speed 4G services in the beautiful city of Itanagar. This would allow Airtel subscribers to access wireless broadband on-the-go and enjoy HD video streaming, play games, and share heavy files on the go.
Airtel customers would be able to access the 4G network only a 4G capable phones supporting Band #40 (2300 MHz) or they can buy Airtel 4G dongles.
Airtel 4G is now available across 296 towns and cities in India is constantly being launched in new regions.
And now with Aircel being the 4G launch picture, it would be interesting to know how the upcoming Reliance Jio 4G would react to the competitions posed by these incumbent players.
