To turn the 3G price war in its favour, Aircel has launched a new 3G dongle in the circle of Chennai. Aircel- The 5th largest telecom operator in the country is not leaving anything by chances and has hence launched this new 3G dongle along with an attractive First Recharge Voucher (FRV) with a denomination of Rs. 395 having validity of 30 days providing 6 GB 3G data.

The pack would allow the subscribers to surf Aircel 3G with speeds as high as 3.6 Mbps. However, please note that as this 6 GB pack is available only as a FRV, this would only be a onetime offer. So, after you exhaust this 6 GB data, you may recharge with the Rs. 335 voucher providing 3GB data with 30 days of validity.

Please note that you will get 3G speeds only in those circles where Aircel has 3G network, in the rest of the circles you will get 2G speeds.

In a move to attract new mobile subscribers Tata DoCoMo has launched Rs. 42 STV calling pack in West Bengal. The pack comes with a validity of 30 days and offers local calls to all mobile numbers at just 35p/min. Calls to landline and STD numbers will be charged at 2p/sec.

As per the reports, mobile subscribers are moving away from Docomo and that’s why the company is taking such steps in order to retain them. But the core problem according to our sources is the lack of proper network coverage and quality of service. Hence, no offer would be convincing enough for the consumers to stick to a network which doesn’t even get coverage at many places.

And this voice calling plan, though good is not that attractive in my honest opinion. Let’s see what Docomo does next to maintain/grow its market share in the telecom circle of West Bengal.
