While many of us complain that the telecom operators only care about using their network capacity to the maximum by encouraging mobile subscribers to make voice calls in the night, Aircel has launched Unlimited Morning Voice Calling packs for its prepaid subscribers in Kolkata.

This morning voice calling pack can be subscribed to by dialing *121*6290# from your mobile. The pack is valid for both, old and new Aircel mobile users in the circle of Kolkata and would allow to make unlimited voice calls to any local Aircel mobile.

Upon the activation of this unlimited morning voice calling pack, the users will be charged at Rs. 1/min for the first minute, and would thereafter be able to talk for free. The pack is currently available only in the circle of Kolkata and allows for free calls between 6 AM to 8 AM.

We are hoping that Aircel would launch this pack in its rest of the circles as well for the betterment of its subscribers.

In a bid to attract more mobile users to join its network, Vodafone has launched ‘Choose Your Number’ initiative under which both prepaid and postpaid users joining Vodafone would be able to pick a mobile number of their choice.

The facility can be availed at 52 Stores, 212 Mini Stores, and more than 40,000 Multi Brand Outlets (MBOs).

“At Vodafone Delhi we believe in offering innovative offerings to our customers, tailored to their usage and likings. Choose your number offer has also been designed against the backdrop of giving our customers the freedom to choose. Our customer research also indicates that there is a deep interest amongst the mobile users to have numbers aligned with some significant event in their lives,” said Apoorva Mehrotra, Business Head, Delhi & NCR, Vodafone.

With this initiative Vodafone wants to reflect back the faith that the consumers have shown in its network.

However, the recent findings of the network quality tests conducted by various agencies as instructed by TRAI reveal a different situation. Vodafone, Idea, and Airtel no longer offer the best QoS and the underdog BSNL has become the most reliable telecom operator.
