Looks like all telecom operators in India want to offer high-speed 4G services as soon as possible. This is partly due to the threat posed by Reliance Jio for eating into their subscriber share and partly in order to capitalize their 4G spectrum for getting maximum revenue.
Vodafone India has launched its 4G services in Kolkata on the special occasion of the Republic Day. To celebrate its launch Vodafone is also offering 150 MB data pack at Rs. 42, and a bonanza pack of 25 GB @ Rs. 2,049.
As a part of its 4G launch strategy, Vodafone is only offering free 4G SIMs to its existing subscribers, but is also giving them 100% extra data along with unlimited movie subscription for their first 3 months on Vodafone 4G network.
Vodafone also plans to cover the key metros including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru by March 2016. It has already conducted network tests in these areas which have already proved to be successful and is now offering free 4G ready SIMs to all its subscribers in these metros.
Airtel Launches 4G in Manjeri, Tirurangadi, and Thalaserry In Kerala
After launching 4G in lot many cities in Kerala, Airtel has now rolled its 4G services in yet another 3 cities in Kerala. With the launch of 4G network in Manjeri, Tirurangadi, and Thalaserry, Airtel now offers 4G in 50 towns in the state of Kerala.
The internet usage has seen a drastic increase in India in the recent times, thanks to smartphones and the mobile apps.

Airtel first launched 4G in Kerala in August 2015, and has covered 50 odd towns in a period of just 5 months.
We are still waiting for Reliance Jio to roll out its 4G services with affordable data plans. But as it looks like, it will happen by the end of February or the beginning of March.
