We’ve all been waiting for the 4G services in the nation since the spectrum auction in 2010. Out of all the telecom operators who won the 4G spectrum licence, Reliance Jio is the only one to have a pan-India licence. We were expecting Reliance Jio to launch its 4G services by the year-end for testing purposes.

A local newspaper from Kerala, Manorama, has reported that Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. will start offering its 4G services from Dec 28, 2014 as a pilot launch.

As this is not a full launch, the 4G network would be available only across selected towns and cities. The company is expected to fully launch its next-generation services based on 4G network by early next year, for meeting the network rollout deadlines.

The launch date of 28th December looks legit to us as it is the birth date of the Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of Reliance.

Reliance Jio has been very active the in the past few months. It had signed numerous tower sharing deals with leading telecom towers providers and also bought 4G network equipments from Airspan.

Let’s hope that they launch 4G tariff plans with cutthroat pricing, or all of these cheap Reliance Jio 4G in India would be for nothing. We’ll update you with their data packs and plans as soon as they are announced. Stay tuned on ITN!
